The day's first shooting, at the West Ambler Johnston dormitory, which houses 895 students, occurred about 7:15 a.m.

At the time of the shootings at Norris Hall, more than two hours later, police were investigating a "person of interest" in the dormitory shootings, Flinchum said Monday.

During the Tuesday news conference, Flinchum said the person of interest was an acquaintance of a woman killed at the dorm.

Steger told reporters Monday that when police responded to Norris Hall they found the front doors chained shut and the gunfire had stopped by the time they reached the second floor.

Authorities say they initially believed the dorm shooting was an "isolated incident" and were still investigating it when the slaughter occurred at Norris Hall. (Officials thought shooter had fled)

The gunman killed 31 people, including himself, and wounded 15 in Norris Hall classrooms.

说实话, 并不是很喜欢摇滚, 因为多数摇滚乐都充斥着无谓的嘶吼和没有率动的旋律. 但是linkin park对我来讲,是个例外.

 

第一次听linkin是在考GRE前几天晚上, 那是经历长达一年马拉松似的备考之最后几天, 人已经到了筋疲力尽的状态. 浏览网页间, 看到linkin park. 早前就知道有这个乐队存在. 只是乐队的名字看上去俗不可耐, 所以一直不愿意浪费时间听他们吼一吼. 可是那次不经意点在线点开了那一首l歌In the end.

 

Oh my god, 主音那癫狂的演唱方式, 加上流畅的旋律,加上rap+rock+Dj的有趣音乐表现方式, 让我瞬间着迷. 接下来的几天,根本顾不上GRE, 疯狂的开始听他们的歌, 下他们的演唱会. 那种侵略的音乐表现手法,可能真好宣泄了当时备考时的紧张和压力. 自此以后, 心里不快的时候,总喜欢很大声的放linkin park来释放自己.

 

转眼间,两年半过去了. 很久也都没有听到linkin park的新作品. 这次看到消息说5月14号,他们的全新大碟"Minutes to Midnight' 要发行了. 看看宣传的文稿, 觉得新album的概念还不错. "Minutes to Midnight" is a measure of the proximity of the world to nuclear destruction.  在听腻了那些ballad式情歌和懒散的R&B后, 重回摇滚乐队关注的老话题战争与和平, 还是一件很不错的事情.

 

在linkin park的official site看到了新大碟第一支单曲'What I've Done' 的Video. 原来熟悉的Mike的rap消失了, 复杂的歌曲编排模式也没有了, 整首歌只有chester直至人心的嘶吼, 表达出linkin对人类许多无知行为的控诉和痛斥. MV不间断的闪过无数近乎意念性的画面:沙漠; 蝎子;老鹰;耶稣;北极熊;科索沃, 伊拉克战场;雅典娜神庙; 金字塔; 狂吃汉堡的美国胖子, 减肥的少妇和骨瘦如柴的非洲难民; 阻塞的交通; red rock; stone henge; 工业浓烟; 化工厂; 毛泽东; 斯大林;细胞分裂; 花开;婴儿胚胎成长; 婴儿出生; .污水中挣扎的水鸟; 雪崩; 举着抢的巴基斯坦儿童;911; 原子弹爆炸的蘑菇云..... (MV:  http://www.linkinpark.com/site.html)  这个歌的讯息让我反思了好久, 作为一个活在地球上这么一个小小的个体的我们人, 又何尝不需要时常想想What I've done呢?
